Samantha, 10 weeks

My baby girl is fat and gorgeous. And she has fuzzy baby chick hair growing in.

Also, we signed the purchase and sale agreement on Thursday. We’ve got 2 weeks to pack. :o

getting close

Wow. Buying a house is… interesting. We can’t sign our purchase of sale agreement until Monday, but the bank (it’s a foreclosed, bank owned house) has given our realtor the go ahead that the offer is finalized and everyone agrees on it. This sketches us out a smidge, because we’re getting very short on time. We now have to get the appraisal and home inspection BEFORE we sign the purchase of sale agreement. Which means if the bank were to change their minds last minute we’d be out that money.

But, 2 things make me feel a little more at ease about the whole thing. They are going ahead and paying to have the house de-winterized. They wouldn’t be shelling out any money if they weren’t planning on going through with this. AND they’ve already taken the house off the market. I can’t tell you how cool it is to look at the listing for our house online and see a big red INACTIVE and know that it’s because it’s our house.

And because I like to think positively…

It’s slow… but it IS going.

a house of our own?

There’s this house in my hometown that we’re in love with. It’s bank owned, 3 bedroom antique that’s pretty much updated. The previous owners put some work into it, but they honestly did a rotten job with a lot of it. BUT the location is perfect, and with a little work, this house could be incredible. The asking price was out of our range, so we put in a really low offer, knowing that they’d reject it. The came back with an offer just under the original asking price. We countered again with with what we considered would be the absolute most we’d be willing to pay. They countered again at $5,000 over that. $5,000. That’s not a lot. We’ve sort of decided to go for it. EEEK!

It’s not even close to being a sure deal yet. We still have to get a home inspection and a lawyer and come up with the money to pay for those and the down payment. And our loan has to go through. We were pre-approved, but I have to somehow find a way to prove my income. We have until noon on Wednesday to give them our answer. IF we get it, our closing date will be July 30th. One month away.

Crossing my fingers.

I asked the husband to entertain the Cupcake for a few minutes while I did a few things around the house. A few minutes later, I found them like this. Adorable!

house hunting?

Kind of exciting and scary news…

Chooch and I are beginning to look for a house! Our own house. One that doesn’t suck as much as the one we’re renting. AWESOME. Chooch has started the process of getting pre-approved for financing and we’ve talked to a realtor.

I really want to find a place in the same town my parents live in so Anthony can get off the bus with my Mom while I’m working and I won’t have to worry about childcare, but we’re open to other towns too. And I hope we can get moved in wherever we’re going by September so Anthony won’t have to change schools either. Not to mention I don’t want to be moving near the holidays. I’ve done that once before and it was awful.

:)

“tubby” time

The Cupcake’s first bath was yesterday. She loved it. Surprised the heck out of me because her brother has always loathed bath time. Also, she’s starting to look a little chunky. I love it!

sad realization

I very quickly came to a sad realization with this whole weight loss thing… Until I’m back at work and buying healthy groceries there is no way I can eat healthy and lose weight. There is nothing in this house but junk, and I have no money to do anything about it. My husband tries to get healthier food, but he really just has no idea how to do that. And let’s face it, junk is cheaper than healthy stuff :( As of right now the only way I could “diet” and lose weight would be to not eat, and while I’m nursing that’s just not an option.
Luckily, I will be going back to work very soon… hopefully the week after next.  Until then, I’m just going to try my hardest not to gain any weight.

This sucks though.
